Senior Citizens to Buy Goods in Magnit at a Discount Without Leaving Their Home

Krasnodar, April 03, 2020: The Company granted a 10% discount to volunteers and social workers who buy goods for elderly people during self-isolation regime.

In the morning hours, Monday to Friday, senior citizens are granted a 10% discount on the entire receipt in Magnit convenience stores and supermarkets. Being in a special risk zone in the wake of a difficult epidemiological situation, elderly people are obliged to stay at home – they cannot go to the store and make necessary purchases taking advantage of their discount. Therefore, Magnit has decided to extend senior citizen discount to volunteer organizations and social workers who buy goods for elderly people.

Since April, the discount is valid on weekdays until 11:00 am in Magnit convenience stores and supermarkets, in all 65 regions where the Company operates. In order to receive it, one has to show their social volunteer’s badge or a certificate of a social worker.

The rule is valid for the entire period of the self-isolation regime that was introduced.

“In the wake of a difficult situation with the spread of infection, we have upgraded our discounting mechanism with a new feature. For several years, in the morning elderly customers have been granted a discount in our stores. Few of them, though, can presently participate in this program, so we have extended their discount to those who can provide substantial assistance to older Russians. The discount will allow volunteers and social workers to buy goods at a reduced price for someone’s grandparents”, – commented Jan Dunning, President and CEO of Magnit.
