St, Petersburg, Russia (October 4, 2024): Magnit, one of Russia’s leading retailers, opened a store styled using the iconic imagery of Saint Petersburg in the center of the Northern Capital.

The new outlet is located at 60 Sadovaya Street. The design of this Magnit store is very different from the signature style of the Company’s ultra-small format (Magnit Nearby banner). The sales floor is decorated with the symbols of the city: the walls depict drawbridges, griffins and legendary monuments of Saint Petersburg, seagulls, and umbrellas. Images of bookshelves and cats, rugs, vinyl records on the walls, lights with lampshades, and flooring that imitates parquet all hark back to the style of old Saint Petersburg apartments. One of the wall rugs near the entrance serves as a backdrop for the photo area.

The assortment of the outlet on Sadovaya is tailored to satisfy both the local residents or those coming to the city center for work and the visiting tourists. The store offers 2,200 articles, with a focus on fresh and ultra-fresh categories (dairy products, meat delicatessen, freshly baked foods, etc.). It also boasts a coffee area and has shelves with ready-to-eat meals and on-the-go snacks. A distinctive feature of this particular store is the expanded offering of products from local manufacturers, as well as the possibility to buy souvenirs bearing the imagery of Saint Petersburg.

The selling space in the new outlet measures 160 square meters and is split into two rooms. The first one focuses on the short customer journey and contains the bakery counter, coffee point, on-the-go snacks, and drinks. The second room is where customers can find products for their regular shopping needs.

Today, the Company has three ultra-small stores in Saint Petersburg. Magnit plans to open up to 10 new outlets of this format in the city by the end of the year.
