Krasnodar, Russia (September 4, 2023): Magnit, Russia’s largest retailer in terms of the number of stores, opened an ultra-convenience store at the Yekaterinburg railway station. The store, a Magnit GO kiosk, is the first of the Company’s kiosks located at a railroad station.

The store is located at 22 Vokzalnaya street in Yekaterinburg, in the waiting hall on the third floor of the station, in front of the long-distance ticket office. The kiosk has an area of around 20 square meters and an assortment of approximately 350 items, with an emphasis on ready-to-eat and ready-to-go products: ready meals, snacks, confectionery products, beverages including freshly brewed coffee, and non-food items to go.

Magnit has been testing the kiosk format since 2021. Food-to-go accounts for the majority of the format’s assortment and sales. Currently, Magnit’s ultra-convenience store network includes 27 kiosks, 19 of which were opened in 2023. Previously, the Company opened kiosks at airports in Kazan, Sochi, St. Petersburg, Perm, Novosibirsk, and various locations in other cities. These stores are focused on quick purchases and high traffic.

Yekaterinburg railway station, with its high traffic, is a great location for our ultra-convenience store, which covers the main shopping missions of guests and passengers – a quick snack and goods for the road. We see the commercial success of the format and are ready for cooperation and further opening of kiosks in a variety of places – parks, medical and educational institutions, airports, railway stations, shopping centers, as well as embankments.
