Magnit Launches Program to Aid Socially Vulnerable Citizens

As part of the first phase of the program, the Company will help 28 thousand needy families from around the Krasnodar region. The program will then be launched in other Russian regions

Krasnodar, April 07, 2020: In order to support vulnerable citizens from high-risk population segments in the face of measures intended to halt the spread of the coronavirus infection, the Company announced the launch of its #МагнитЗабота (#MagnitCare) social program. The initiative will first be implemented in Krasnodar region, followed by roll-outs in other Russian regions. The Chain devotes considerable attention to the health and safety of its customers. Today, when the spread of COVID-19 threatens the lives of many Russians, the Company is willing to provide targeted aid to socially vulnerable households across Kuban.

Through the program, Magnit plans to provide around 28 thousand food packages to families with disabled children and families under increased social risk registered with social security authorities of Krasnodar region.

Each package will include various non-perishable foods, including pasta and canned products, as well as essential non-food items. These will be delivered to target households by regional social service centers.

Disabled children and low-income families with multiple children face increased risk from the coronavirus. The launch of this program is a call for action amidst the challenging epidemiological situation. All this is aimed at ensuring accessibility of food products for the Russian population.
