Magnit Installs Protective Screens in All Its Stores in Moscow and Moscow Region

In order to reduce the risk of coronavirus spreading, the Company has equipped more than 3,600 checkout counters in nearly 1,800 stores with special plastic screens.

Krasnodar, April 16, 2020: Magnit continues carrying out a complex of special activities in its stores aimed at improving safety of its customers and employees. In Moscow and Moscow Region, the Retail Chain has equipped checkout counters with protective screens in all store formats, i.e. convenience stores, supermarkets, drogerie stores.

In general, in order to ensure safety of its customers and employees, Magnit has increased the number of disinfections of rooms, shopping carts, cash registers and other equipment in its stores. Magnit has set special breaks for disinfection in its convenience and drogerie stores. In large formats, it has increased the area of sanitary treatment.

In workshops of supermarkets where meals and products are cooked, the formerly applied complex of activities is supplemented with video monitoring of sanitation and video monitoring of compliance with all technological processes and food safety requirements, additional disinfection cycles have been introduced. Besides, any situations when cookery specialists from different workshops contact with each other in common facilities have been minimized.

The social distancing markers have been applied in selling areas, customers are communicated the importance to maintain the distance between each other. Testers of decorative and care cosmetics have been removed from drogerie stores as they contact with skin when applied.

The Company regularly informs its employees of safety precautions and measures to be taken at the threat of coronavirus spreading. The body temperature of the personnel is measured every day.

The number of disinfections in the Company’s distribution centers has also been increased, all logistics complexes have antiseptics, employees’ movements between different rooms have been restricted, and the schedule is made in such a way as to avoid contact of different shifts to the greatest extent possible, a part of the administrative personnel works from home. The product quality is assessed remotely – a team of experts from the Headquarters decides on the product characteristics using video cameras.
