Magnit and Gastronom to Develop a Joint Food Media Platform

Krasnodar, Russia (January 20, 2022): Russia’s largest retailer and one of the leading Russian food media companies joined forces to develop a digital media platform centered around food and healthy lifestyle. This partnership will enable Magnit to attract new audience and enhance its customer communication capabilities and may in the coming years become an additional source of traffic for the Company’s e-commerce and brick-and-mortar stores.

The media platform will be based on the www.gastronom.ru website as well as the eponymous public pages on social media and channels in messenger apps, which boasted a total of 18 million monthly unique visitors as of the end of 2021. Today, these media contain over 600 thousand pieces of content, primarily recipes, guides, tutorials, and master classes based on the traditions, tastes, and interests of Russian consumers. The partners intend to upgrade the media platform by adding new services, content formats, and tools to communicate with the audience, and to expand its reach by launching new thematic segments in areas like physical and mental health, beauty and self-care, travel, and hobbies.

Gastronom’s team, with its 20 years of experience and unique competencies, will also be involved in developing Magnit’s other customer communication channels. Gastronom is expected to bolster the editorial office of My Magnit, the Company’s in-house printed magazine for customers, and create original theme-based content for Magnit’s mobile app and public pages on social media.
